Grapefruit – “Forbidden Fruit” – “One of the Wonders of Barbados” – was first described in 1750 by the Welsh botanist-priest Griffith Hughes. Later, the grapefruit became known as “little shaddock” because of its resemblance to the pomelo, which was then called shaddot, and in 1814, Jamaican traders renamed the fruit grapefruit. It is an accidental hybrid of pomelo and orange. doTerra Grapefruit Essential Oil is an invigorating oil with a vibrant, citrusy, floral aroma, cold-pressed from the peel of the Citrus paradisi fruit. Rich in limonene, citral, and linalool, it is known for its purifying, toning, and anti-cellulite properties. The oil supports healthy metabolism, uplifts mood, and improves skin health, especially for acne and pigmentation. This CPTG® certified product is suitable for aromatherapy, cosmetics, and massage, but should be used with caution due to phototoxicity.

Uses

How to use	Recommendations
Diffuser	Use 3-4 drops to invigorate and freshen the air
Apply to skin	Dilute 1-2 drops in 50 drops of carrier oil, apply in the evening
Cosmetics	Add to toners, creams and serums for evening care
Sprays	2–4 drops per 500 ml of water for antiseptic and refreshing sprays
Bath	1–2 drops with an emulsifier (honey, salt) for lymphatic drainage, in the evening
Inhalations	1–2 drops in an aroma medallion or inhaler for vigor
Cooking	Not recommended, better to use juice or zest
