Bergamot is the most demanding of the citrus plants, requiring a specific climate and soil in which to grow. Italians have used bergamot for centuries to reduce stress, promote peace, and rejuvenate the skin. In Greece, the unripe fruit is used as a dessert, alone, or in coffee. Bergamot is unique among citrus oils in its ability to both calm and uplift the mood, making it ideal for relieving anxiety and pain.
