Peppermint (Mentha × piperita) is a hybrid of water mint and garden mint, first described by Carl Linnaeus in 1753. dōTERRA® Peppermint Essential Oil is steam distilled and, due to its high menthol content, is of the highest quality and has a bright minty aroma with a powerful cooling effect. The oil has pronounced tonic, analgesic and antiseptic properties, supports oral health, digestive and respiratory systems, helps with upset stomach, motion sickness, restores the voice, normalizes heart rhythm and relieves headaches. It also cools and soothes irritated skin and is used in aromatherapy, cosmetics, cooking (if GRAS labeled), and in the production of toothpaste and chewing gum.

Application
